Common
Questions

If your question isn't here, email us at hello@a2ztech.io — we usually respond within one business day.

Mostly small to mid-sized operations — medical and dental offices, retail, real estate, hospitality, professional services. The common thread is that they're generating data but not really doing much with it yet. We've also worked with larger companies that have existing data infrastructure and need specific pieces built or fixed. If you're unsure whether your situation is a fit, just reach out. We'll tell you honestly.

With a conversation — not a contract or a sales call. We want to understand what you're working with and what you're trying to accomplish before either of us commits to anything. If it makes sense to move forward, we'll do a more thorough discovery pass and put together a specific proposal based on what we actually find, not a templated quote.

Yes. We work remotely with clients across the country. We're based in Charleston and there's real value in local relationships when it's feasible, but geography has never been a limiting factor for us.

Freelancers tend to be specialists who move on once their piece is done. Agencies add overhead layers between you and the people actually doing the work — and you pay for that overhead. We're a small, focused team. You communicate directly with the people working on your project, not an account manager. We're also interested in long-term relationships, not just delivering a project and moving on.

That's usually why people call us. Messy data is the starting point for most of our projects, not a blocker. We've untangled multi-year CRM disasters, consolidated data from a dozen different spreadsheets, and worked with systems that were only documented in one person's head — and they'd left. Bring us what you have.

Focused engagements — cleaning, enrichment, a specific analysis — typically run two to four weeks. Larger builds like automation pipelines, agent deployments, or full analytics implementations are usually six to twelve weeks. We scope based on what we actually find after discovery. We won't give you a timeline before we've seen your data.

Usually yes. We're not tied to any particular stack and have worked with most common platforms — Salesforce, HubSpot, various SQL and NoSQL databases, BigQuery, Snowflake, Airtable, and others. If your setup is unusual, we'll flag it before scoping begins so there are no surprises.

We price by project, not by the hour. You'll get a fixed number tied to specific deliverables. Hourly billing creates the wrong incentives for everyone — it rewards slowness and punishes efficiency. For clients who want ongoing support, monitoring, or continued development, we offer monthly retainers. We don't do open-ended billing.

It depends on what you need. Some clients want a retainer for monitoring, maintenance, and continued development. Others just want to know they can reach us if something breaks. We don't enforce packages — we structure it around what actually makes sense for your situation.

We sign NDAs before any data changes hands. Client data is handled in isolated environments and deleted at project close unless we're retained to maintain ongoing systems. We don't store, reference, or analyze client data for any purpose outside the engagement.

We've worked with medical practices and other regulated industries. We take compliance requirements seriously and will discuss your specific obligations during scoping to make sure our approach is appropriate. If a project requires specialized compliance infrastructure beyond our current setup, we'll tell you before starting.

Still have questions? We're happy to talk through your specific situation before you commit to anything.
